Since it’s early beginnings in 1983, the insurance coverage has been adopted by countless insurance markets around the world. This insurance is now known widely as Critical Illness Insurance. Many companies also refer to the coverage as Living Benefits.

Critical illness insurance is a form of insurance protection that can provide you with a lump sum payment (an amount you desire) if you suffer from a covered critical illness (see list below). There is a survival period required which is normally 31 days. It is widely thought the physical and emotional strain of suffering a critical illness can be severe to you and your family. When you combine that with the potentially damaging financial impact, the result can be devastating and in some cases non-recoverable.

That’s where the critical illness benefit comes to the rescue. The settlement you receive is yours, and yours to spend as you see fit. Some receipants use it for extended medical coverage, experimental procedures, lost income replacement, out-of-country treatment, for medical equipment etc. Other choice it to pay debts such as mortgage or loans, or to travel or buy that special toy! You choice what you want to do with the funds.
